Yonsei University and Sungkyunkwan University are hot when it comes to meeting. The last laugh in this confrontation was Yonsei University, where Lee Min-seo played a big role in the match.

Yonsei University won 84-65 in the regular league home game against Sungkyunkwan University in the 2023 KUSF College Basketball U-League held at Yonsei University Sinchon Campus Gymnasium on the 10th. Through this victory, Yonsei University succeeded in winning 6 consecutive victories by winning all matches against the same group (Group C) before the break.

Yonsei University’s Lee Gyu-tae (26 points, 7 rebounds) attacked Sungkyunkwan University’s under the goal, and Ki-sang Yoo (16 points) and Kang Ji-hoon (10 points, 9 rebounds) were also excellent. Lee Min-seo (8 points) made up for the sluggishness in the 3rd quarter in the 4th quarter and showed the temperament of a matchmaker.

At the beginning of the game, Yonsei University’s big man team showed off their performance. He grabbed a steady offensive rebound and made the team’s second chance score, and attacked the relatively low Sungkyunkwan University goal by scoring a footback. Lee Gyu-tae took advantage of the match-up with Kim Yun-seong and made several mid-range shots (18-15). Starting pitchers Lee Kyu-tae and Kang Ji-hoon combined for 18 points in the first quarter alone.

Thanks to the performance of the big man Jin, Yonsei University scored a lot of points (29 points) in the first quarter (29-19). In the second quarter, Yonsei’s persistent rim attack continued. Hong Sang-min, who came in as a substitute for Kang Ji-hoon, also made use of mismatches and cut-ins to score breakthroughs (35-26).

Other players also responded to Big Man Jin’s performance. Yugi-sang widened the gap with his long-term 3-point shot, and Lee Min-seo’s steal followed by a quick attack was also one of the reasons why Yonsei’s lead widened (48-33). 안전놀이터

Yonsei University started the second half with a 16-point lead (52-36), but faced a crisis in the third quarter. While Lee Min-seo’s field goal left the rim and could not score, Park Jong-ha’s consecutive goals and Kang Sung-wook’s free throws were pursued (52-46).

It struggled with the momentum of Sungkyunkwan University, which once caught fire. Choi Hyung-chan and Yugi-sang put out the urgent fire with free throw scores, but Park Jong-ha allowed a 3-point shot and allowed the pursuit to the bottom of the chin (57-56). After a fierce battle, both teams finished the third quarter 62-61.

It seemed like a hot seesaw game would unfold, but Yonsei University rushed in the 4th quarter. Yonsei University was able to take a breather through Lee Min-seo’s five consecutive goals. As a result, Ahn Seong-woo’s goal was scored and Sungkyunkwan University’s operation time was drawn (71-63). Like Sungkyunkwan University, which heated up in the third quarter, Yonsei University in the fourth quarter also did not let go of its momentum.

With Yoo Ki-sang’s 3-point shot and Ahn Seong-woo and Lee Gyu-tae’s picturesque scoring behind the goal, they gradually approached the game (79-63). Ahn Seong-woo’s two free throws at 1 minute and 24 seconds from the end of the game were enough to put a wedge in the game.

On the other hand, Sungkyunkwan University succeeded in overturning its inferiority in the 3rd quarter, but failed to maintain its momentum in the 4th quarter and lost.
