Hip-hop artist and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg challenges the owner of the North American Ice Hockey League (NHL).
Local media such as ‘ESPN’ reported on the 2nd (Korean time) that Snoop Dogg, along with businessman Neko Sparks, will jump into the NHL team’s Ottawa Senators recruitment match.
Snoop Dok also announced this through his Instagram. With 80 million followers, he said, “What (Neko Sparks) is trying to do in Ottawa is amazing. I am hoping to become a member of the owner’s group. We want to bring hockey back to our community.”ㅋㅋㅋ벳
Snoop Dogg is known to have formed a consortium with more than a dozen other investors to compete for the Senators. If his group wins the takeover battle, he will become the first black owner in NHL history.
It is true that hockey has been considered exclusively for white people. ESPN reported that Snoop Dogg participated in the acquisition to create an environment where hockey could be enjoyed more easily in communities of color, including blacks.
Competition is fierce. Actor Ryan Reynolds has invested in the Remington Group, a rival group that is interested in acquiring the club.
ESPN expected the Senators’ acquisition to exceed $1 billion. This would be the highest amount recorded in NHL history.
