Shin Dong-bin, chairman of Lotte Group and “owner” of the Lotte Giants, visited Sajik Stadium in Busan to support the 2030 Busan World Expo and the team.
Shin Dong-bin visited Sajik Stadium in Busan on Wednesday, the site of the sixth game of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League between the Lotte Giants and Hanwha Eagles.
Since the end of the 2022 season, Lotte has made a notable reinforcement with the support of its parent company. In a “first for the club,” Lotte signed “Glasses Ace” Park Se-woong to a five-year, $9 billion non-free agent contract, while in the free agent market, the team signed Yoo Kang-nam to a four-year, $8 billion contract, Noh Jin-hyuk to a four-year, $5 billion contract, and Han Hyun-hee to a 3+1 year, $4 billion contract.먹튀검증
The investment paid off with early season results. Lotte finished April in sole possession of first place and made an early splash by winning eight games in a row, and the momentum continued into May. However, things have not been going so well lately. Lotte was swept at home by the KT Wiz last week and dropped to fourth place after a three-game series against the Samsung Lions over the weekend.
In response, owner Shin Dong-bin visited Sajik Stadium to show his support for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid and to boost the team’s morale. Shin Dong-bin’s recent visits have resulted in two wins and one loss. The team lost against the LG Twins in Jamsil on April 27, 2021, but won back-to-back games against the Hanwha Eagles in Sasik on July 13, 2022, and against LG Electronics in Sasik on October 8, 2022.
According to Lotte officials, Shin Dong-bin provided 300 boxed lunches to the first-team and Futures League players, employees and partners (facilities, beautification, grounds, security, events, security, tickets) in hopes that Lotte players and officials will maintain the good momentum and give their best until the end of the season.
Led by Charlie Barnes, Lotte, who will be looking to ‘take the lead’ in the first game of the midweek, organized a starting lineup of Hwang Sung-bin (left fielder), Jeon Jun-woo (designated hitter), Jack Rex (right fielder), Ahn Chi-hong (second baseman), Ko Seung-min (first baseman), Yoon Dong-hee (center fielder), Noh Jin-hyuk (shortstop), Yoo Kang-nam (catcher), and Park Seung-wook (third baseman).
