Elena Rivakina (Kazakhstan) won her second title of the year by withdrawing from Angelina Kalinina (Ukraine) 6-4 1-0 in the final of the Italian Open. Kalinina withdrew due to an injury to her left thigh.

“I’m so happy to have won the title,” Rivakina said in a post-match press conference, adding, “I didn’t want the match to end like this.” 

She said, “Anhelina had a tough fight. She is really happy with her progress and hopes she can continue like this. It’s a pity that she didn’t finish the fight. I hope she isn’t seriously injured and that she can recover quickly. hope.”  

Rivakina, her former Wimbledon champion, is expected to move up to No. 4 in the world rankings as she captures her fifth singles title of her personal career. Her teeth are her first top 5 entry.
