Lin Dan and Lee Chong-wei were the best men’s singles players of our generation and rivals. Since 2000, they have shared victories in various open competitions. Lindan retired in 2020 and Lee Chongwei in 2019.
Lindan has won two Olympic gold medals and five world championship titles. Lee Chong-wei won 47 BWF Super Series and World Tour titles and was ranked world No. 1 for 349 weeks.
BWF President Paul Eric Heuer said, “Lee Chongwei and Lindan have been the main badminton ambassadors for the past 20 years. With his outstanding performance, he has attracted fans of all generations to the sport. Both deserve to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.”
