He overcame 2m16 on his first jump attempt to secure first place early, and on his second attempt he set a standard record of 2m32 at the 2023 Budapest World Championships. Woo Sang-hyeok Woo and Park Soon-ho (2m10) took second place on this day.

Among them, only Woo Sang-hyeok jumped over the 2m16 wall. Earlier, he set a record of 2m27 following Jubon Harrison (USA) who ran 2m32 at the Doha Diamond League held in Doha, Qatar on the 6th, and succeeded in challenging 2m32 again in Yecheon.

Jubon Harrison, Joel Baden (2m33, Australia), and Woo Sang-hyuk were the only jumpers who jumped over 2m32 in outdoor games this year. Woo Sang-hyeok’s personal career record is 2m36 indoors and 2m35 outdoor.
